Monuments: Michelangelo's Medici Madonna of Florence: Miscellaneous Renaissance Sculpture

The Medici Madonna is a depiction of the Virgin and child and was intended as decoration for the Old Sacristy in the church of San Lorenzo in Florence. It was part of the Medici tombs and was mounted over the tomb of Lorenzo the Magnificent and his brother Giuliano the Elder, between sculptures of the Medici patron saints Cosmas and Damian.
